Michigan rocker Ted Nugent, known for his opinions on the First and Second Amendment and a song about hunting, endorsed Bill Schuette for Michigan's Governor on the opening day of deer hunting season.
“I'd like to see Michigan elect Attorney General Bill Schuette as our next Governor," said Nugent. "We've got people in this state that are pure, absolute constitutionalists that will represent We the People with truth, logic, and common sense. I hope Michigan stays on the red course.”
Nugent was on a northern Michigan radio show Wednesday morning when he made the announcement.
Schuette responded: "I am honored to have the strong endorsement of Ted Nugent in my campaign to be Governor of Michigan," said Schuette. "Ted and I have built a friendship based on love of hunting, freedom, and strength of our country. He appreciates Michigan's proud tradition of sportsmen and understands the importance of protecting the Second Amendment."
"With Ted's help, I'm working hard to keep Michigan red and bring more jobs to Michigan."
