Mayor Andy Schor was one of the featured servers at the Junior League of Lansing's Lunch with League fundraiser Thursday afternoon.

This was the largest annual Lunch with League fundraiser.

The League is a diverse group of women who have a passion for improving the lives of women and children in the Lansing community.

Mayor Schor explained why organizations like the Junior League are important to the welfare of Lansing.

"The Junior League does so much for our community here in Lansing. They're doing backpacks for kids and they're helping and their members are really awesome. They're always getting out and doing community service. So they do this lunch every year and they have celebrity servers and I was asked to be a server, and I am proud to do it," Schor said.

Proceeds from the lunch will go to the organizations and community projects that provide essential needs, including food, shelter and access to those who need it most.
