The Eaton Rapids School District is defending it's decision to cancel school due to weather on Monday.
Many parents are criticizing the decision, saying most of the roads were cleared up by Monday morning.
The district cancelled classes late Sunday night. In a Facebook post, the district says, "One of our primary jobs is keeping your kids and our staff safe... Sunday night, at the time we made the call to cancel classes, the roads were hazardous and were expected to get worse."
The district also says they don't take the process of closing the district lightly, but prefer to err on the side of safety.
Some parents agree with the district's decision and are thanking Eaton Rapids schools for taking their children's safety seriously.
Eaton Rapids was the only district to close Monday because of weather.
