LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) — Santa and his helpers are making sure Sparrow Hospital's youngest patients are having a holiday they won't forget.
On Wednesday, the Bottomless Toy Chest arrived at the Sparrow Children's Center, straight from the North Pole. Kids were able to pick out whatever they wanted. Santa's staff even took special care wrapping the gifts in cellophane to protect against the spread of germs.
"The children's faces light up whenever the bottomless toy chest comes to the hospital, just to get their minds off the treatment. And just to see them receive brand new toys from the bottomless toy chest, it really makes their day," Ashley Leslie, program director for Bottomless Toy Chest said.
Santa's helpers partnered with the group Bottomless Toy Chest to deliver the gifts.
The organization makes stops at 11 hospitals throughout Michigan, Ohio, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
