It is Fat Tuesday - a day where you can pig out on sweet treats without any guilt.

Bakeries across Mid-Michigan are busy this morning trying to keep up with the demand for the deep fried pieces of dough. Thousands are expected to be sold today. People indulge themselves with the fattening treats before the fasting for Lent begins tomorrow. The tradition originates from the Polish who concocted the treat using what was left in their cupboards before the start of Lent.

And while paczki traditionally are filled with jelly or cream, a Detroit restaurant is putting a hot dog in the middle. American Coney Island in Downtown Detroit tweeted a picture of its coney paczki. It is a traditional coney dog with mustard, chili and onions wrapped in a sweet deep-fried paczki. Would you try this?
