Monday, June 4 is the kick off of Run Across Michigan for Law Enforcement.

Deputy Matt Garbarino starts the race from the Oakland Co. Sheriff's Office building in Pontiac. He will run the first 13.1 miles of the run and have a police escort along the way.

Run Across Michigan is a solo charity run for the purpose of raising money for those fallen in law enforcement and awareness for those actively serving.

The run will span 160 miles.

There have been over 580 line of duty deaths in law enforcement. This event hopes to bring awareness to that issue.

The race begins at the Fallen Heroes Memorial in Pontiac (Oakland Sheriff) and ends at the memorial in West Olive, MI (Ottawa Sheriff).

It will take four days to complete running 40 miles per day.

Fundraising goes to the charity which provides support and financial assistance to families of fallen police officers.
