Rollover crash closes I-96, distracted driving to blame

WILLIAMSTON, Mich. (WSYM) - A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Sunday morning following a rollover crash.

It happened in the westbound lanes of I-96 around 6:55 a.m. near the 115 mile marker between Williamston and Meridian roads.

Michigan State Police tell FOX 47 News the driver was texting and driving when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled over several times.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Several departments responded to the crash.

Westbound I-96 was shut down for over an hour while crews cleaned up the crash.
