A rollover accident forced a portion of a highway to shut down early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the accident involving a pick-up truck on westbound I-496 between Pennsylvania Avenue and U.S. 127 around 4:30 a.m.
The truck was badly damaged in the accident and had to be towed away.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-496 had to be shutdown while emergency crews worked the scene. Both lanes of I-496 have since reopened.
