'Robbery, I need 20 Thousand.' Suspect passes note to teller in Shelby Township bank robbery

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police are looking for a suspect who gave a PNC Bank teller a handwritten note demanding $20,000.

The robbery happened at the PNC Bank on Hayes Road in Shelby Township. Investigators say the suspect never implied he had a weapon, he just presented a note that read:
"Robbery
I need 20 Thousand
No Die (sic) pack
or alarms"

The suspect then fled on foot after receiving an undetermined amount of money, police say. Shelby Township police and K-9 units from Sterling Heights are assisting in the search.

The suspect is described as a Black man who was wearing a gray hoodie, brown/tan Carhartt jacket and matching bomber style hat and dark blue jeans. He was also wearing a pink/purple face mask. He's described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and medium build.
