Roads closed in Jackson for weekend basketball tournament, car show

JACKSON, Mich. — The city of Jackson closed down several roads on Thursday, July 25 in the downtown area to accommodate the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

Michigan Ave from Blackstone to Mechanic, Jackson Street from Pearl to Cortland, and Hayes Court all are shutdown until Sunday, July 28.

There will also be road closures to accommodate the city's 'Cruise In' event on Friday, July 26.

Part of Michigan Avenue to Hayes Court, West Pearl Street to North Jackson Street will be closed for the classic cars.

Parking is available in the lot behind the Lofts on Louis, 209 W. Louis Glick Highway for the event.

The event will have a live band from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. on Friday in the CP Federal City Square with John Louis Good and the Rose City Troubadours.

Food trucks will be available in the park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Michigan Theatre of Jackson will be selling beer and wine inside the park. (Must be 21+ to consume alcohol and stay within the black fencing)
