The city of Lansing is closing Francis Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Vine Start starting at 7 a.m. Friday.
Access will be maintained from Michigan Avenue to the Foster Community Center Francis Avenue driveway. Francis Avenue will be closed between the driveway and Vine Street Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
The closure is to accommodate the Foster Community Center 100 Year Celebration event, which will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The celebration will feature a wide variety of performers and activities for Lansing Residents.
Performers include; Capital City Hustlers, Habibi Bellydancers, M.U.V.E and a Hip-Hop Dance Troop. The event also includes special programming by the Foster Library. Additionally, there will also be inflatables for children to play on.
The road will reopen at 8 p.m. Friday.
