A road that just got a new name is set to close for construction.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says Martin Luther King Drive - formerly known as Francis Street - will be closed for two weeks for railroad reconstruction.

The closure of MLK Drive will happen between Louis Glick Highway and East Pearl Street at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 15, according to MDOT.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to West Avenue, while southbound traffic shifts to Cooper Street.

MLK Drive expected to reopen Friday, April 26.
