Ride service program returning, expanding in Jac

Good news for people in Jackson County.

The city announced its Reserve-A-Ride program will now be offered to people living outside city limits.

It will also expand to six days a week, instead of three.

Last fall, the county's budget included cuts to the ride program. This meant the service was no longer available to people living outside city limits.

A millage is currently funding the Reserve-A-Ride service to operate within city limits.

A public hearing will be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2016, at the Jackson County Tower Building (Room 101) from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment on the continuation of services.

Those that cannot attend, can send comments to JATA (2350 E. High St. Jackson, MI 49203) or call (517) 787-8363.
