New research shows that childhood poverty might have a lasting impact on the brain.
Researchers from the Czech Republic studied more than 20,000 older adults, and found people who grew up in poverty scored lower on verbal and memory tests than those from more affluent backgrounds.
They also had more symptoms of depression, exercised less and were in poorer health.
