We have new information on the problems with the evidence room at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.
On Thursday Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Mccormick told the county's law and courts committee that she conducted a random check on five different cases to make sure all of the evidence was present and accounted for. And she says it was.
At this point, she believes things are back on track and says the prosecutors office will no longer do random checks. Sheriff Scott Wrigglesworth says he's conducting monthly audits and sharing them with the committee.
A separate Michigan State Police investigation has concluded as well. That report is not being shared at this time because Mccormick was the complainant. It's been handed over to the attorney generals office to review. We'll let you know the results when they're available.
