Relative: Family involved in deadly crash into school lived in Indiana

Lansing, Mich. - The Texas family involved in an deadly crash in Lansing over the weekend lived in Indiana and were working as migrant workers.

That's according to Texas television KRGV-TV who talked with one of the family's relatives.

The Lansing Police Department says the family was on a trip in Lansing when their SUV crashed into the new Pattengill School on Fairview Avenue Sunday night.

Gardenia Herrera, Jose Angel Aguilera, and an 11-year-old girl died in the crash. A 10-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy were also injured. Lansing police say they are both in stable condition at the hospital.

Police say alcohol played a role in the crash, which is still under investigation at this time.
