Lansing's general election is November 7 and the deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, October 10.
A new mayor will be elected in November, along with four seats on the city council. Incumbent Virg Bernero will be leaving the Mayoral office after 12 years. State Representative Andy Schor and Lansing City Councilwoman Judi Brown Clarke will be the challengers to the seat.
So if you are planning to vote and you aren't yet a registered voter - Tuesday is the deadline to register.
All qualified voters must be registered by 5 p.m. in order to participate in the election on November 7th.
To register to vote you can visit any Secretary of State branch office or a county clerk's office in your area.
