Rash of car break-ins at car dealerships across Mid-Michigan

Over the course of a week, thieves have hit at least three car dealerships carrying out large scale break-ins.

We talked to some of the owners of those dealerships who say this is not something that happens often. In St. Johns, thieves got away with about $30,000 of merchandise from Pauli Ford.

Most of that was from rims and tires, but down in Blackman-Leoni Township and Marshall, it was much worse with the thefts exceeding $100,000.

The suspects broke into close to 50 cars between the two dealership, taking expensive radios. The owner of Extreme Dodge tells us he's never seen anything like it.

There could be a connection between those two hits in Marshall and Blackman-Leoni Township.
