LANSING, Mich. — Jackson County Suicide Prevention Coalition will host Stomp Out Suicide event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Michigan Theater on Sept. 6.
The annual event helps raise suicide prevention awareness, bring together people who have been effected by suicide, and hopefully decrease rates of suicide in Jackson County.
Last year, over 200 people attended the event.
People can register online for $10 or $15 at the door.
The entrance fees covers the cost of a goodie bag and t-shirt.
This year's event will feature Jamie Nabozny, a safe school advocate.
Nabozny won a lawsuit in federal court that establishes that all young people including those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender deserve a safe educational experience.
Nabozny was named a Defender of Human Rights by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
