GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — The wet weather is not stopping the show in Grand Ledge as Yankee Doodle Days get underway, rain or shine.
It's a 36-year-tradition in Grand Ledge and nothing is going to change that.
Yankee Doodle Days is happening at Jaycee Park on East River Street.
“We're hoping the rain holds out but if it doesn't its o.k. because we've got music, we've got beer, we've got food and it will be a good time for everybody,” said Grand Ledge Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Hoyes.
Grab your umbrellas because the plans are still in place to bring family fun to Smalltown, USA.
“People love the fireworks, they love parades,” Hoyes said.
“They love just being out and you know we have long winters so when the summer hits you want those outdoor festivals and you want that fun outside.”
The event runs through Sunday.
