Tuesday's school shooting at Maryland High School has school security on the minds of students and parents once again.
A 17-year-old student shot two other students at Great Mills High School Tuesday morning before the gunman was confronted and shot by a school resource officer. The shooter was later pronounced dead.
A local substitute teacher sent FOX 47's Alani Letang a video of Parkside Middle School in Jackson that she said has a huge security flaw.
She talked with Letang, who told her that she learned that several doors at Parkside middle school stay unlocked during the day.
She asked to stay anonymous but showed us the video of something she said puts the students at risk.
"Well I find it very unsafe, and I was quite surprised by it," said the substitute teacher.
Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Jeffery Beal told FOX 47 that Parkside Middle School was built in the early 1960s with the idea that students could cut through a courtyard to get from one class to another. He called this a "California" design. Therefore 14 doors must remain unlocked so students don't get trapped outside. Today, the school's design is outdated.
