MSU Board of Trustees members will meet at 9 a.m. Friday to consider implementing an increase in the 2018-2019 room and board rates.

The proposed rate increase is 2.97 percent. Michigan State University approved room and board increase back in 2017.

Friday's MSU Board of Trustees meeting could also end being crashed by some students. A group of them are planning a protest before and during the meeting.

They're upset over what they call a lack of institutional accountability that's plaguing Michigan State University

There have been several instances of MSU Board of Trustee meetings being interrupted by students and staff this year.

FOX 47 is sending a crew to Friday's meeting and will have complete coverage of the meeting later Friday on FOX 47, and the FOX 47 mobile app.
