The land near the intersection of Forest and Collins roads won't be an empty field of grass for much longer.
It currently belongs to the MSU Foundation, but McLaren has a deal in place to purchase 52 acres.
It is the proposed site of McLaren's new hospital in South Lansing.
McLaren Greater Lansing President Tom Mee says the site has all the necessary parts to build a vibrant healthcare campus.
Mee also says it will be easier for patients to get to the hospital, because it's close to US 127.
The facility will serve as a teaching and research hospital, in collaboration with MSU.
It is expected to open in 2021.
