The Litle Bend Hoggery has a lot of Concord residents worried.
"Let's keep it the way it is and not have hog factories popping up and sprouting all over the place," one speaker said.
One of the big concerns heard at the meeting was the possibility of pollution.
"You would be affecting aquatic life with this project," one speaker said.
"Leep this community clean, fresh air, fresh clean water. The animals that run on the land," one speaker said.
They’re also worried about the smell.
"I'm willing to give my house back to the bank because i don't want to live with those kind of conditions," one speaker said.
Hog farmers say not to be afraid, because the facilities are regulated.
"We have a book that thick that regulates how we spread our waste on the land. And if levels get too high, we're not allowed to spread," one speaker said.
They say there are a lot of systems they can use to control the odor as well.
We reached out to the owner of the proposed hog farm, but he didn't want to make a comment.
