LANSING, Mich. — An escaped prisoner who was being transported from Michigan was caught on Sunday after he was able to get out of a transport van in Texas.
Officials say the van stopped at a McDonalds, and that's when Cedric Joseph Marks made his exit.
Marks is a professional MMA fighter who is currently facing three murder charges.
Somehow after he made his escape, he was able to take off his shackles and his orange shirt.
Officials are unaware how he did that.
Chief Jeff Christie of the Conway police dept. said, ""He had leg restraint, hand restraints, and a belly restraint that attached the three together. It is unknown at this time how many of those were connected when he escaped or how he was able to remove any of those, if so."
He was captured a few hours after his escape.
Marks was being taken from a prison in Grand Rapids after being captured by U.S. Marshals on a warrant for home burglary.
The 44-year-old is considered extremely dangerous.
