The pastor of St. Martha's parish in Meridian Township has been charged with embezzlement. Father Jon Wehrle was arraigned Monday on charges that he stole more than $100,000.
He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. He's due back in court on May 25 and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 1.
As fox47news.com reported last week, Wehrle has been placed on administrative leave by the Lansing Catholic Diocese.
State police started investigating several weeks ago after the Diocese came forward with its own findings. News 10
