A Catholic priest accused of sexual assault is now working as a psychologist for the State of Michigan.
Dr. Robert Gerl is a contract psychologist for the state's disability determination service in Kalamazoo.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services say Gerl does not work directly with clients. He's been employed by the state since 2006.
Earlier this month, the Lansing Catholic Diocese removed gerl's priestly faculties after a credible allegation of sexual assault involving an adult male decades ago.
A spokesman for the Health Department says they are monitoring the situation.
