JACKSON, Mich. (WSYM) - Utility crews continue to restore power to portions of Mid-Michigan following Friday’s high winds.
Consumers Energy says two-thirds of the 90,000 Consumers Energy customers affected have had power restored.
Winds topped 55 m.p.h. Friday bringing down 1,600 power lines and breaking more than 200 power poles, per the utility company.
The Flint area was impacted the most by high winds.
Consumers Energy expects all customers should have power restored by 11:30 p.m. Sunday. .
Almost 180 workers from five states have assisted with power restoration efforts.
