Potterville suspends city manager after employee complaint

Posted

POTTERVILLE, Mich. (WSYM) - Potterville City Council voted to suspend its city manager following an employee complaint.

Wanda Darrow has been suspended as Potterville city manager for 45 days with pay. City Council voted unanimously during the regularly scheduled meeting Thursday night.

According to a resolution FOX 47 News received, Darrow was suspended for some form of misconduct or neglect of duty.

Mayor Bruce Kring tells FOX 47 News he won't comment on the nature of the allegations due to an ongoing City Council investigation.

Deputy Mayor Jeff Bussard says the complaint was filed by an employee less than a week ago and the administration is taking allegations very seriously.

Darrow has been ordered to return all city-owned property. She has also been denied access to city facilities as a city manager, instead, she has no more access than the public does.

The Potterville city treasurer will take on city manager duties while the investigation is conducted.

Darrow has served as city manager in Potterville for over a decade.

City Council will hold a public hearing on Darrow's termination unless she waives it.

FOX 47 News has reached out to Darrow for comment. She has not returned our calls.
