Potato Day being held at State Capitol Tuesday

LANSING, Mich. — You can get your spud on in Lansing Tuesday morning.

The Michigan potato industry is hosting Potato Day at the State Capitol.

Michigan is the country's leading producer of potatoes that are turned into potato chips.

Michigan farmers harvest about 2 billion pounds of spuds every year.

There will be free french fries, potato chips, and gourmet potato dishes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
