According to a poll by Marketing Resource Group (MRG) 58% of likely Michigan voters say they would support the legalization of marijuana for recreational use if it were to be regulated and taxed like alcohol.
MRG reports that the strongest support for the change comes from voters who self-identify as Democrats, and voters under the age of 40. While voters who self-identified as Republicans, and voters 65 years and older were more likely to oppose legalization.
The poll showed support over 50% in all areas of the state, except in the tri-cities area of Flint, Saginaw, and Bay City as well as in the northern-lower Michigan counties.
