Police start operation to catch distracted drivers

Maybe you're expecting an important text message or maybe you're late for work and need to put makeup on in the car. Whatever the excuse, distracted driving is dangerous.

More than 7,500 crashes in Michigan were because of distracted driving in 2015. While police have been focused on it, it's not always easy to catch.

As FOX 47's Christopher Lane reports, that's why state police started Operation Ghost Rider this month. It's an effort to convince drivers to resist the temptation to check their phones while behind the wheel.
