Police searching for person of interest in Pattengill shooting

LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) -- Lansing Police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl was shot in the North parking lot of Pattengill Academy.

The girl was a Lansing resident who was not a student at Pattengill, she was taken to Sparrow hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

The shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. and caused Pattengill and Lansing Catholic to go into lockdown for about an hour.

Police determined that the 15-year-old had been in the backseat of a vehicle that was occupied by her parents and a 21-year-old male. The weapon was discharged from inside the vehicle, and the vehicle fled the school parking lot.

Lansing Police are trying to locate Kahlil Jamal Withers-Fleming. He's been described as a black male, 21 years old, and a Lansing resident.
