The Ingham County Sheriff's Office tells us that officers from Lansing, MSU, and the Michigan State Police assisted in the search for a man who ran away from police during a traffic stop.

Police wouldn't say what prompted the traffic stop. The man ran away on foot. Police say they know who the man is, and that he has several outstanding warrants. They don't believe that there is any threat to the public. They didn't find any drugs or weapons in his vehicle.

The West Campus School buildings in the Holt school district were placed on lockdown for a period of time this morning while police were searching, as a precaution.

Police searched for the man in the area with K9 units, but were unable to find him. The man is described as a black male wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. Police continue to search for the man.

Ingham County deputies are searching for a man who ran from a traffic stop in Delhi Township Friday morning.

He was pulled over near the intersection of M-99 and Bishop Road.

Deputies tell us he's a black man wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.

A person matching that description was seen walking through a wooded area south of I-96.

A canine unit is searching for him near the Chisholm Hills Golf Club.

The sheriff's office says there is no reason to believe he is armed or is a threat to the community.
