PNC Bank robbery suspect now in custody

The man accused in a robbery at the PNC bank Thursday afternoon is now in custody.

Lansing Township Police Chief Adam Cline says a Michigan State Police Trooper spotted the suspect Thursday night on the city's north side on Turner Street and Douglas Avenue.
He was turned over to the Lansing Township Police Department. The 44-year old man is now in the Ingham County Jail awaiting arraignment. His identity will be released after he is arraigned.

The PNC Bank was robbed around 2:20 p.m. Thursday. Kline says the suspect walked into the bank, wrote a note and handed it to a teller demanding cash. According to Kline, the note implied the man had a weapon. The teller handed him about $700.00 and left the bank in a white 4-door sedan. No weapon was seen.

The PNC Bank at the corner of Waverly Road and West Saginaw Highway in Lansing Township was robbed at approximately 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

Lansing Township Police Chief Adam Kline tells us that one man entered the bank, wrote a note, and handed it to a teller. He says the note implied the man had a weapon and demanded money.

Chief Kline says the teller handed the man approximately $700.

The robber fled the scene in a white, 4-door, sedan. No weapon was seen.

Police have distributed very good surveillance pictures of the robber.

He is described as a white male, 5'9, with short brown hair. He was was last seen wearing a white A-shirt, blue hooded pullover and red or orange shorts. He also has tattoos along his neck line.
