JACKSON, Mich. (WSYM) - Michigan State Police are searching for a man they consider armed and dangerous following a fatal shooting Friday night.
Police were called to the 200 block of West South Street near the intersection of Jackson Street in Jackson around 10 p.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they found 32-year-old Ronald Demetrius Owens on the sidewalk suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Owens was first in serious condition but later died at the hospital.
FOX 47’s Alani Letang spoke to the victim’s family Saturday, and we learned he is the father of four children. His oldest son said he will remember his dad as a great man, who was always there for him, "He said he was going to my last game, and now he got killed. Today was my last game."
Family members said Owens never bothered a soul, only had love in his heart and cherished his kids. The mother of the oldest son said, "he has four kids without a dad for no reason."
Police are searching for a suspect in the shooting, 30-year-old Raheim Rahhman Armstrong.
He is described as a 5’ 11” black male weighing 180 lbs.
