INGHAM COUNTY, Mich. (WSYM) - Wednesday a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) pulled over a man driving a pickup truck for a traffic violation. During the stop, on M-52 near Howell Rd in Ingham County, the trooper discovered the suspect had a warrant out for his arrest.
While attempting the arrest, the suspect ran over the trooper’s motorcycle and fled the scene. Despite having his motorcycle run over, the trooper was not injured.
The suspect was driving a white 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a Michigan license plate. MSP have released the name of the suspect, John Henry Goss III, a 38 year old man from National City, MI.
The initial incident happened at 10:30 a.m. Police continued to search for the suspect and with a joint effort from troopers from the Lansing Post, Brighton Post, Hometown Security Team and Hamburg P.D. the suspect vehicle was located in the early afternoon on Pingree Rd in Livingston County.
A traffic stop was attempted and again John Goss fled in his vehicle. After a short pursuit Goss was arrested without further incident.
Goss was taken to Ingham County Jail and will face additional charges in Livingston County regarding the pursuit.
