LANSING, Mich. — Police in India say thieves stole some of Mahatma Gandhi's ashes on what would have been his 150th birthday Thursday.
The ashes were being held at the Bapu Bhawan Memorial in India.
After his death, he was cremated and his ashes were sent around the country to various memorials.
Not only did they steal ashes, but the word "traitor" was painted across photos of Gandhi by them too.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
