Lansing Police are investigating a shooting early Thursday morning that injured a teenager.
Detectives have not ruled out the possibility the teenage victim shot himself.
It happened on Chadburne Road off Waverly Road at around 1:00 a.m.
The 17-year-old told police someone tried to rob him while he was taking the trash to the dumpster, and shot him when he refused to comply.
The teen is expected to recover.
