UPDATE: Woman dies after self-inflicted gun-shot

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A woman was killed by a self-inflicted gun-shot wound Monday night.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies from their Delta patrol office were dispatched to assist the Delta Fire Department with a medical call at a business in the 6000 block of W. Saginaw Highway just after 5 p.m.

There the officers found a 30-year-old woman who they believe may have overdosed.

As the deputies approached the woman in an attempt to assist her with her medical problem, she produced a handgun and fired one shot.

She was reported to have died at the scene from a self-inflicted gun shot wound..

The sheriff's office is also reporting that the woman was from Lansing,

The Eaton County Sheriff's Department also says that no deputies on scene fired any shots.

No one else was injured in this incident.

It is also being reported that the woman was not an employee of the business.

This incident is being investigated by the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office.
