Mason Police have released the name of an 88-year-old Mason-area resident who was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Mason. Police have identified him as Dale Woodruff Harrison.
The accident happened at at the intersection of Ash Street (M-36) and Park Street in the city just before 11 a.m. Saturday.
Harrison was crossing the road southbound on Ash Street, east of Park Street, when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 22-year-old man traveling westbound.
The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed, and fully cooperated with investigators at the scene.
The intersection was closed down for nearly four hours while Mason Police and the Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team worked to figure out what happened.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
