Jackson police are investigating a shooting where a man was shot two times in the back of the leg.
Deputy Chief Elmer Hitt said police were notified by hospital personnel of a gunshot victim around 9:50 p.m. Monday. He added the the injuries were serious, but non-life threatening.
The victim, a 21-year-old man, told police he was walking in the area of Jackson and Rockwell streets when he was shot in the right leg. Hitt said the victim does not know who shot him, and he didn’t seen anyone.
Hitt said the victim was able to flag down a female driver, and was taken to the hospital.
