East Lansing Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a local bank.

Police are searching for the suspect who they say attempted to rob a Bank of America branch in the 1300 block of W. Lake Lansing Road Thursday.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police say the suspect walked into the branch and told a teller he had an explosive device. No device was seen and the teller refused to give him any money. The suspect then fled the bank on foot. Police dogs were unable to track him.

The suspect is described as a white male, with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses and a white-and-blue Detroit Lions baseball cap. Police say the suspect is also missing two front teeth. If you know who he is, call the ELPD Detective Bureau: 1-(877)-ELPD-TIP
