UPDATE: Police report discovery of possible human bones

LANSING, Mich. — Lansing police are reporting a discovery of possible human bones at a home on the city's south side.

On Monday, they were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Loa Street, near Atlas Street.

After securing the scene, they requested assistance from members of the Michigan State University Forensic Anthropology team, Michigan State Police Human Remains Analyst, and the Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators could be seen going in and out of the backyard.

All verified the finding of human remains.

The investigation will continue and an autopsy will be performed.
