Area law enforcement agencies are investigating a rash of armed robberies across Mid-Michigan.
Overnight, there was an armed robbery at a local hotel and attempted robbery at another hotel.
East Lansing police confirm an armed robbery at the Holiday Inn Express on West Road late Monday night around 11 p.m. Police say a black male suspect indicated he had a weapon, but a gun was not seen. The suspect got some cash and left. Nobody was hurt.
Another robbery attempt fifteen minutes later. This time in Lansing. Lansing police tell FOX 47 News, a man went inside the Red Roof Inn on Dunckel Road and asked for money. Employees refused to hand over any cash, and police say the man left. No one was hurt. In that case, police say the suspect never indicated he had a weapon.
Early Monday morning, there was an armed robbery at a Quality Dairy store. A man armed with a gun robbed the store on South Pennsylvania just after midnight. No arrests yet in any of the robberies.
Authorities say the description of the suspect in the QD robbery matches the description of the suspect in the robbery at the Holiday Inn Express. The suspect is described as a black male, 5,'8, with a beard, and wearing a red stocking cap. Police say there is a possibility the recent string of robberies could be connected, and an investigation is underway.
