Police investigating shootout in Jackson neighborhood

Jackson Police are investigating a shootout on the city's Northwest side Friday.

The first shots fired call came in at 11:08 a.m on Oakhill Ave. Police also received shots fired reports on Eaton and Hallet Streets.

There are no victims at this time, but police say multiple houses and cars were hit by gunfire. Police say the shootout involved multiple vehicles and people on foot.

Around the same time, Police also received a shots fired call on First Street, on Jackson's south side. Investigators do not know it is related to the other incident.

Jackson High School and Bennett Elementary School were put on lockdown as a precaution, but it has since been lifted.
