Police are investigating a scam targeting Jackson City Water customers.
Authorities say a man impersonating a Jackson City Water employee told a customer there was a water issue in the area, and asked for the victim's drivers license and credit card.
The victim ended up giving the impersonator cash in exchange for a water sample.
The Jackson Water Department says its employees will never ask for money or ID at people's homes.
Anyone with information on the scam is asked to call police.
