LANSING, Mich. — Overnight Friday morning, a man killed two women that were former acquaintances of his.

Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth, Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich, and Meridian Township Police Chief Ken Plaga held a joint conference to release the details.

The suspect, who lives in Delta Township but is from Chicago, Illinois, went to the home of a third person around 2:40 a.m. and banged on her door, asking to be let in.

The woman did not let him in.

This was at the 5300 block of Mall Road.

She contacted the police and told them that she had received text messages from the suspect that said he was "ridding demons of friends of his."

When police located the 27-year-old man, police say that he showed them his phone with pictures of two women that were deceased.

After getting the addresses, police did a welfare check and found a 26-year-old white female deceased in Holt, and a 32-year-old white female dead from Williamston.

They are not releasing the names until next of kin can be notified.

Wriggelsworth said that both died from blunt force trauma.

Police also said that the man had two more victims that he intended to go after.

The suspect is now in custody and in jail so there is no further threat to the public.

Wriggelsworth said that the "quick capture saved many lives." He added that they "got a bad guy, off the streets" who was on a "killing spree."
