LANSING, Mich. — West Ionia Street is blocked off from Butler to Sycamore Street.
Police say a shooting happened next door to the Ionia Apartments.
Police say the shooting is now an open homicide investigation after a 37-year-old woman is dead.
Police said a 44-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. They said they do not have a suspect at this time but they don't believe it was a random act.
Police said the initial belief is that it is an isolated incident.
Fox 47 had a crew on scene and said people were being turned away from the apartment complex located at 730 Ionia Street.
