Police identify victim in weekend homicide

Lansing Police have identified the victim in a homicide Saturday on the city's east side.

30-year-old Westley Cheeks of Lansing was shot and killed in a house in the 100 block of Shepard Street around around 2:45 A.M.

Cheeks was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the shooting was not random.

Lansing Police along with Michigan State Police continue to investigate the shooting.

No arrests have been made and police haven't released any information about the suspect.
